PVH REIMAGINES THE FUTURE OF FASHION WITH OPENAI

PVH Corp. , parent of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI on January 27, 2026. The deal centers on deploying ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI frontier models across PVH's global operations to drive a data- and insights-led approach to product creation, demand planning, inventory management, and consumer engagement.

PVH will integrate OpenAI's technology stack into its value chain while developing custom AI tools that combine frontier models with PVH's internal expertise in design, merchandising, supply chain, and brand management. The focus remains practical and scalable: test-and-learn pilots that deliver measurable value without replacing human creativity.

Key application areas include:

  • Product design and early-stage creation — AI surfaces historical data, trend insights, and concept variations to accelerate the move from idea to prototype.
  • Demand planning and inventory — Improved forecasting accuracy, reduced overstock/understock risk, and faster reaction to market shifts.
  • Consumer and retail engagement — More relevant, brand-aligned interactions at scale, supporting personalized marketing and in-store/online experiences.

Stefan Larsson, CEO of PVH Corp., stated: “As we build Calvin Klein and TOMMY HILFIGER into the most desirable lifestyle brands in the world, our collaboration with OpenAI will help us supercharge our brand-building journey and connect more meaningfully with our consumers. Together with OpenAI, we will explore exciting new opportunities for our brands, accelerate our data-driven operating model and enable faster, more data-driven decision-making. With a test-and-learn approach, we’ll build practical use cases with scalable impact to drive value for associates, partners, and consumers, while helping us build a culture of innovation and agility from the ground up.”

Giancarlo ‘GC’ Lionetti, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenAI, added: “PVH shows what’s possible when AI is embedded into the core of a fashion leader. The result is less friction, more creativity, and a sector-wide transformation accelerated by PVH deploying OpenAI at scale.”

The partnership aligns directly with PVH's multi-year PVH+ Plan, which targets long-term profitable growth through data-enabled operations and stronger consumer connections. No specific financial terms or implementation timeline beyond initial pilots were disclosed.

This move positions PVH among the first major apparel groups to embed frontier AI models enterprise-wide. Execution risk lies in integration speed, data quality, and maintaining brand authenticity—areas where PVH's domain knowledge will determine ROI. If the test-and-learn phase yields consistent gains in speed-to-market and margin protection, the model could set a benchmark for how legacy fashion players adapt to AI-driven efficiency without diluting creative output.

The announcement reflects broader industry pressure to reduce waste, shorten lead times, and personalize at scale in an environment of volatile demand and rising input costs. PVH's early adoption of ChatGPT Enterprise provides a structured path to capture those benefits while controlling governance and privacy standards.
