Apple announced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, introducing new hardware, expanded AI capabilities, and significant design updates.
Both models are powered by the new A19 Pro chip and feature an aluminum unibody design with a built-in vapor chamber for thermal management. Apple stated the devices deliver the “biggest leap in battery life ever for iPhone.”
The back of the phones now includes a forged aluminum plateau, creating more space for larger batteries and improved cooling. Ceramic Shield 2 has been added to both the front and back of the devices.
Display
The iPhone 17 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch screen. Both include 120Hz ProMotion, Always-On capability, and peak outdoor brightness up to 3000 nits.
Performance
The A19 Pro chip integrates a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, with additional Neural Accelerators. The chip supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, high frame rates for AAA gaming, and on-device large AI model processing.
Camera System
The camera system consists of three 48MP Fusion cameras: Main, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto. The Telephoto sensor supports 4x optical zoom at 100mm and 8x at 200mm.
The 18MP Center Stage front camera features a square sensor for wider selfies and can record simultaneously with rear cameras via Dual Capture.
Video features include ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock for syncing multiple cameras in professional productions.
Battery and Charging
Battery capacity is expanded, particularly on eSIM-only models, which no longer include a SIM tray. Apple claims up to 39 hours of video playback on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Fast charging is supported with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter, delivering up to 50 percent charge in 20 minutes.
Software
iOS 26 brings new Apple Intelligence features, including Live Translation, visual intelligence for screen searches, and personalization tools.
Accessories and Finishes
Accessories include TechWoven cases, silicone and clear cases, and a crossbody strap. Available finishes are deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver.
